Colored Light Therapy (Syntonic
Phototherapy)
Syntonics or optometric phototherapy is a process of
exposing the eyes to specific colors (frequencies) of light.
This helps stimulate various nerve cells in the eyes and
brain.
Since 80% of learning occurs by way of the
eyes, inefficient visual function can adversely affect all
aspects of oneís life, including academic achievement,
athletic performance, and efficiency at work.
Syntonic phototherapy is used in the
treatment of many visual symptoms including:
- Blurred or fluctuating vision
- Eye turn or lazy eye
- Double vision
- Eye strain or fatigue
- Reduced peripheral vision
- Glare or light sensitivity
- Night vision problems
It can also aid in the treatment of:
- Headaches
- Sustained near task (or reading)
difficulty
- Reduced academic performance
- Depth perception problems
- Poor coordination or balance
- Physical, mental, emotional stress
A
light therapy evaluation
will examine the above symptoms as well as visual/motor
performance and peripheral vision sensitivity.
